BitMart is shutting down: confirmed dates and how to get your funds out

BitMart just announced an orderly wind-down of its platform, days after BitMEX did the same. If you still hold funds there, this page tracks the confirmed deadlines and the order to unwind things in, then goes through the migration options depending on how you used the platform. We keep it updated with each official notice.

Already confirmed

July 26, 2026, 01:30 UTC: new registrations, deposits and new trade orders suspended. August 26, 2026, 01:00 UTC: all trading services stop. January 31, 2027, 15:59 UTC: platform operations officially cease. Withdrawals stay open until then, but every week you wait adds risk. Get out now.

What is announced, what is not yet

  • Confirmed: Spot Margin service ends, forced liquidation July 26 at 02:00 UTC, margin loans must be repaid before then, open margin orders cancelled.
  • Official calendar published: registrations, deposits and new orders suspended July 26, 2026 at 01:30 UTC; all trading services halt August 26, 2026 at 01:00 UTC; platform operations officially cease January 31, 2027 at 15:59 UTC. Withdrawals remain available throughout, and BitMart itself urges users to close positions, complete KYC where needed and withdraw as early as possible.
  • Confirmed: the closure is part of a sector wave (BitMEX announced its own wind-down days earlier): compressed fees plus rising compliance costs squeeze mid-tier exchanges out.
  • Still unclear: what happens to assets left after January 31, 2027. The notice speaks of official cessation without detailing any recovery process beyond it. One more reason not to find out.

The exit checklist, in the right order

  1. Leverage first. Repay margin loans and close Spot Margin positions yourself before July 26, 02:00 UTC. A market-price forced liquidation almost always ends worse than a manual close.
  2. Cancel every open order, including forgotten conditional ones: an order that fills after your last withdrawal strands a residual balance you will have to chase.
  3. Sell or move the illiquid small caps now. Tokens listed mostly on BitMart can become unsellable as liquidity drains. An average exit today beats an orphaned token in three weeks.
  4. Withdraw in tranches if the amount is large, starting with a small test per network, and double-check destination addresses: address mistakes spike when a whole user base rushes the exits.
  5. Export your records. Download trading history and statements now; retrieving them for tax filings after a shutdown can turn painful.

Where to migrate, by profile

You came to BitMart for early altcoins and low fees. That was its niche, and it maps directly onto the venues our community actually trades on. XT.com lists 800+ futures pairs with early listings, and the community link carries the VIP2 fee tier. MEXC runs one of the widest catalogs anywhere, with a stacked welcome bonus. BingX covers copy trading, holds verifiable registrations (AUSTRAC, FCIS, FINTRAC) and gives a permanent 20% fee cut through the member link. None of the three holds a MiCA licence, so you operate outside the EU framework, knowingly. The member walkthrough and every discount live on the how to join page, and the discounts only apply if the link is used at sign-up.

You need an EU-licensed venue. Since July 1, 2026 only MiCA-authorized providers can serve EU residents. We have reviewed the main options with verified numbers: Bybit for derivatives, OKX for spot, Gate for an altcoin catalog close to BitMart's, and Crypto.com for the app-and-card ecosystem.

The lesson, again

One month, three exits: Binance leaves France on July 1, BitMEX announces its wind-down mid-month, BitMart follows within the week. The takeaway is the same each time. An exchange account is where you place orders; it is a poor place to keep the capital itself. The rule we have repeated on the channel since 2020 has not moved: trade where the liquidity is, hold in self-custody, and never let one venue sit on everything you own. FAQ

Is BitMart really shutting down?

Yes. An orderly cessation was announced in late July 2026, days after BitMEX. First confirmed deadline: Spot Margin forced liquidation July 26 at 02:00 UTC.

Until when can you withdraw?

Withdrawals run until official cessation on January 31, 2027 (15:59 UTC). Trading stops earlier, on August 26, 2026 (01:00 UTC): sell before that, withdraw right after, and keep a wide margin before the January boundary.

Best BitMart alternatives?

EU framework: Gate or Crypto.com (MiCA-licensed). Early altcoins and low fees: XT, MEXC or BingX (offshore, member discounts via our links).

What if you miss the deadline?

Post-shutdown recovery exists, but it is slow and comes with no committed timeline. Leveraged positions liquidate on their own at the deadline whether you are watching or not.

Migrating from BitMart this week?

The Telegram channel is answering migration questions all week, and member discounts (XT VIP2, 20% on BingX, MEXC bonus) activate at sign-up, not after.
