Why use a position size calculator?
In crypto trading, intuition is your worst enemy. Markets are extremely volatile (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana) and entering blind with random leverage is the best way to suffer one of those famous liquidations.
Our calculator mechanically applies the 1% rule: regardless of where you place your Stop Loss, the position size is adjusted so that, if the scenario invalidates, you only lose exactly the defined risk amount (e.g., 1% of your capital).
The 3 key elements handled by the algorithm
- Asymmetric sizing: the wider your Stop Loss, the smaller the quantity (units) of the token bought, to guarantee that your risk (in $) stays constant.
- Directional bias (Long / Short) and Leverage: unlike traditional equities, crypto Futures markets require margin. The calculator simulates the required margin based on leverage and mode (Isolated or Cross), and propagates these inputs to display an ultra-precise liquidation price following Binance/XT models.
- Hidden cost handling: Taker/Maker fees and Funding rates eat a massive chunk of your profit if you stay in position long. The tool subtracts them from your final Risk/Reward ratio.
