Best forex/CFD broker 2026: Axi vs BlackBull vs PU Prime
People ask us which forex or CFD broker to pick. The honest answer starts with a more useful question: which entity you sign with, and what protection you have if things go wrong. We compared three brokers we know, on the criteria that actually change your outcome, and we flag the regulatory catch on each.
The verdict in one line
For EU-regulated protection, Axi is our pick: it's the only one of the three serving the EU through a CySEC entity. BlackBull is the best on the technical side (platforms, cTrader) but stays offshore. PU Prime has the lowest entry cost and highest leverage, but it carries an FCA warning and an AMF blacklisting, so weigh that before you sign.

The comparison

Our criteria
We don't score a broker on its marketing. When you put leveraged money on the line, what counts first is the entity that takes you on and the protection that comes with it, then execution quality (spreads, platforms), real cost (commissions, hidden fees), and operational reputation. Headline maximum leverage isn't a quality signal: it's just a longer or shorter rope.
Axi: the regulated pick
Axi serves part of the EEA through Solaris EMEA, a CySEC-regulated entity, which brings negative balance protection, segregated funds and ICF cover up to €20,000. Add MT4/MT5 with TradingView and the Axi Select funding program, and it's the cleanest option if EU regulation matters to you. One thing to check first: the European entity's signup form lists 24 countries, and France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and Spain are not among them. Country-by-country detail sits in our Axi review, and the funding ladder is broken down in our Axi Select analysis.

BlackBull: the best on technicals
If you're already autonomous and want choice, BlackBull is hard to beat: MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView, tight ECN spreads, fast execution and a strong Trustpilot reputation. The trade-off is the offshore Seychelles framework, without an EU regulatory layer. Everything's in our BlackBull review.
PU Prime: cheap entry, offshore reality
PU Prime offers a low minimum deposit and leverage up to 1:1000. The platform works, but the regulatory picture is thin: an FCA warning and an AMF blacklisting, with clients served by an offshore Seychelles entity. If it can legally serve your country and you accept that trade-off, the details are in our PU Prime review.
